Kohl's Sonoma Christmas Wax Melt Reviews 2022

This is a review of the Sonoma Holiday wax melts from Kohl's for 2022. This year there are 5 new scents (Celestial Cypress, Fresh Cut Fir, Peppermint Bark, Sparkling Cinnamon, and Spiced Roasted Chestnut). The rest have returned from previous years.
I'm underwhelmed by these new scents.
Returning scents are Spiced Holly Berry, Winter Berry and Spruce, Holiday Cookies, Sugar and Spice.
Balsam Fir
Fresh Balsam, Crisp Fir, Cedarwood
Pine with a rich, slightly salty, woodsy note. This is a returning scent that I've reviewed before, but I got it again so I can compare it with the new Celestial Cypress and Fresh Cut Fir scents.
Celestial Cypress
Pine, Cedarwood, Eucalyptus
Slightly herbal, peppery pine (but not as peppery as Fresh Cut Fir) with a hint of eucalyptus (but no sinus clearing effects).
Fresh Cut Fir
Fir Balsam, Citrus, Herbal
Pine with a little bit of soapy sweetness and a hint of black pepper. I'm not detecting any citrus.
Peppermint Bark
Peppermint, Melted Butter, Whipped Vanilla
Not what I expected. I'm getting white bread, cinnamon, and hints of peppermint and chocolate. Not a cinnamon roll, not toast, but regular white bread sprinkled with cinnamon, and then peppermint, slightly artificial chocolate, and sweet vanilla added. It's not a bad scent, just a bit odd. And the scent was pretty much gone in 2 hours.
Sparkling Cinnamon
Cinnamon Bark, Fir Needle, Musk
I don't like this one at all. I'm not a fan of most straight cinnamon scents, but this isn't at all what you'd think based on the scent name. It's more woodsy I guess, but a slightly sour, moldy wood with a hint of pine. Some pine scents in wax melts have a weird sour PlayDoh note that I don't like, and I think that's the type of pine that's in this scent. I'm getting a tiny bit of cinnamon in the background, but certainly not bright and "sparkling" by any means, and not really sweet either. Had to remove this one from the warmer because it smelled so bad.
Spiced Roasted Chestnut
Spice, Cinnamon, Vanilla
This is a totally different scent from
Roasted Chestnut which came out in August. This smells like a super sweet cinnamon roll with the addition of maple and a hint of nuts. I don't know about chestnut per se, because it's not quite that nutty, and it's not rich and smoky like chestnuts tend to be. It's a nice scent, but not all that different from other cinnamon bakery type scents.
