Oak & Rye Day of the Dead Wax Melts Reviews - Fall 2021
October 6, 2021
This is a review of two Oak & Rye Day of the Dead wax melts from Kroger from fall 2021: Cantarito (Sparkling Lime & Citrus) and Empanada de Fresa (Apple Berry Pastry).
I don't know if there are any other Oak & Rye Day of the Dead wax melts, but ScentSationals does have more Day of the Dead wax melts through Walmart.
Cantarito (Sparkling Lime & Citrus)
I smell lime and sour orange (almost like satsuma), with a tiny bit of a fizzy soda note (but not enough to be annoying). It's quite sour (in a really good way), and only a tiny bit sweet. I love this fantastic, unique scent! It's almost the same as
ScentSationals Frozen Margarita from H-E-B, but that scent didn't have the orange note, and this scent is sweeter, more sour, richer, and more full-bodied.
Empanada de Fresa
Plump blackberries and juicy apple mulled with cane sugar with a buttery crust
This is the same as Empanada de Fresa (Strawberry Empanada) from the
ScentSationals Day Of The Dead collection, and
AmbiEscents Harvest Cobbler,
ScentSationals Berry Cobbler from H.E.B.,
Oak & Rye Berry Crunch Muffins, ScentSationals Blueberry Flapjacks, and AmbiEscents Blueberry Muffin. It's similar to, but not the same as,
Better Homes & Gardens Wild Blueberry Pie.
This is a super rich, super buttery blueberry bakery scent, like blueberry muffins with a ton of blueberries. It's not totally authentic, but it's much better than most blueberry bakery scents I've smelled. I'm not a fan of a lot of bakery scents, but this one is incredible! I've always thought there was some other kind of fruit in this scent besides blueberry, and looking at the notes, it's not blueberry at all, but a combination of blackberries and apple! I guess I do detect a hint of apple? But this really smells like blueberry to me.
