Big Lots (Living Colors) Christmas Wax Melts Reviews - 2021

This is a review of Big Lots (Living Colors) Christmas Holiday Wax Melts from 2021.

Caramel Cream
A yummy combination of vanilla, rich caramel (but not salted), ginger, and cinnamon. If it had more spice and was maybe not quite so sweet, it would smell like gingerbread. Instead, it smells like gooey glaze that you'd pour over ginger cookies. I might also be getting a barely detectable smidgen of milky coffee, but I'm not sure about that. It's a nice scent!

Christmas Cookies
I think this is the same as last year's Christmas Cookies, a nice but generic vanilla cookie scent.

Cinnamon Spice
This smells like fresh (but fake) apples (like an apple scented room spray) mixed with a very subtle hint of cinnamon and nutmeg that give it an apple pie vibe, as well as a good amount of vanilla. The fakeness actually works for this scent, and it smells fantastic. I think it also has raspberry in it, and maybe a hint of pear, and possibly a smidgen of cedar. It may be the same as Sonoma Caramel Apple, which I described the same way (it didn't have any caramel notes). I no longer have that scent to compare, but I do remember it, and Sonoma and Living Colors wax melts are both made by the same company, MVP Group International, although I thought MVP had stopped making the Sonoma melts in 2020. It's also the same shade of slightly pinkish, muted red. The scent started dissipating within 2 hours.

Fresh Cut Pine
A very nice slightly smoky, aromatic spruce (not a biting pine).

Peppermint Vanilla Swirl
A nice, standard sweet peppermint candy cane scent.

Sugared Cranberries
This is not a cranberry scent. I do smell fruit, but I can't identify it, nor is it really "fruity"; maybe a fake raspberry and/or blackberry? But I also get a bergamot note that gives it a tiny bit of a cologne or body wash note (although it's not a cologne or body wash scent at all), and maybe a hint of vanilla and smidgen of floral. It's sweet and a tiny bit tart, but not a cranberry type of tartness. It's actually quite nice.

Warm Cinnamon
A straight red hot sweet cinnamon candy or Big Red gum cinnamon scent. It's totally different from the Cinnamon Spice scent, and also not the same as the new Real Living Cinnamon Spice scent (which is different from the Cinnamon Spice from this collection; review of that scent will be posted soon).

Winter Woods
A nice dark, rich men's cologne scent with a strong note of sweet mahogany, a little bit of a soapy note, and possibly a smidgen of barely detectable leather. It's not the same as Winter Woods from 2017, which was a totally different scent. This is the same scent as the new Real Living Mahogany Woods (review of that scent will be posted soon).

Fresh Cut Trees (Holiday Woodlands)
A perfect Christmas tree scent. It's different from the Fresh Cut Pine scent in that this is more of a biting pine (but in this case, not at all in a bad way) and it's not smoky. It has a tiny bit of sweetness and I think a hint of citrus (orange maybe?)... I LOVE it! It's very similar to ScentSationals Sugar Pine. I think this is the best scent out of the bunch.

Winterberry Woods (Holiday Woodlands)
I can barely smell anything on cold sniff, so I'm surprised the scent was as strong as it is when melted (albeit throw is still mediocre). A nice scent of cedar, cinnamon, and a hint of apple. It's a bit sweet, which might either be from the cedar or apple, or maybe the addition of a hint of musk. It's nice, but kind of nondescript.
