This is a review of Better Homes and Gardens Aromatherapy Wax Melts from Walmart 2019. Spring 2018 was the first time this new Aromatherapy line came out at Walmart (and includes candles, wax melts, and oils). 8 new scents were released last year, but only 4 new scents this year.
Bergamot & Sage
A zesty slightly herbal cologney scent with a salty note. It's savory and just a little sweet. When melted there's also a tiny bit of a soapy note and possibly a barely detectable smidgen of pine. I really like this scent.
Frankincense & Patchouli
Gently spiced olibanum, warm patchouli, and woody vetiver reveal notes of patchouli and ambered floralcy
This is a dupe of so many other scents, including ScentSationals Dark Musk (from Meijer), ScentSationals Barton Springs from H.E.B., and the blue Moonlit Walk side of ScentSationals Date Night duo. It's a super rich men's cologne scent unlike any others I've smelled. It's warm, with an ambery note, and a barely detectable hint of smokiness. But what sets it apart is a rich almost foodie quality that might be a hint of blackberry, vanilla, and/or caramel. It may also have a smidgen of patchouli way in the background. My description doesn't do it justice. It's an incredible scent. And it lasted all day, at least 8 hours.
Jasmine & Ylang Ylang
On cold sniff I smell more of the jasmine and even a honeysuckle or orange blossom note, which smells great. But when melted, it takes on an odd slightly bitter herbal note with a smidgen of cinnamon or spiciness. I guess that's supposed to be the Ylang, but it smells nothing like Ylang. I would still classify it as a floral, but it has that odd herbal note that I'm not sure I like.
Sandalwood & Vanilla
Ambered sandalwood wrapped with warm vanilla bean, hints of white cedar, and a shimmering citrus sparkle
This smells like oud wood, a deep resinous almost tree sappy woodsy scent, but mixed with a sweet note which I think is vanilla, and a very slight sour note that gives it a darker, more intense vibe. There's also a hint of chocolate, but I think that's patchouli (which sometimes has a slight cocoa note). This is not the same scent as ScentSationals Vanilla Woods. It's the same scent as ScentSationals Exotic Sandalwood from Meijer, ScentSationals Oud Noir Fusion, and AmbiEscents Sandalwood Vanilla. I love this scent, and it's very unique!
