Aldi Wax Melt Reviews from Summer 2022 (Huntington Home brand): Cabana Days, Day at the Fair, Life Balance, and Natural Wonders (all triple scents).
Cabana Days
Santal Coconut
This is coconut without the pineapple or tropical fruit notes that are often blended with coconut scents. But although it's primarily coconut, there's something else in the background, and it has a touch of sweetness. I think I detect vanilla, amber, and sandalwood, but all in very subtle amounts. It's like 90% coconut and 10% of the other notes, and if it were sweeter it would smell like coconut scented suntan oil.
Mango Mimosa
This is nothing like other mango scents I've smelled. It's more like mango lemonade, if there were such a thing. It's sweet but not overly sweet, with a rich saltiness. I'm indeed getting the mango/peach (mango tends to smell like peach), but I'm also getting a hint of orange, lemon, and maybe a smidgen of pineapple. I like it!
Hawaiian Luau
On cold sniff this smells like authentic pineapple, sweet but not candy sweet, and with a citrus kick that real pineapples have (not orange or lemon), and a hint of a savory herb in the background. When melted, however, the sweetness dissipates a bit and it takes on a strong, slightly waxy mango/peach note. I like it more on cold sniff.
Day at the Fair
Sweet Watermelon
I do smell watermelon, but it's an odd, sort of savory watermelon (but not a "good" savory like ScentSationals Watermelon Mojito), and not very sweet. I think I'm also getting a tiny bit of lemon, which should make this smell like watermelon lemonade, but I'm not sure if it's lemon. Maybe a smidgen of pineapple? I wish I knew the notes. It smells like fake watermelon candy with a bit of citric acid added and much of the sweetness removed. It's not terrible, but I'm not really a fan.
Coconut Vanilla Waffle Cone
A yummy scent of coconut with a sweet, buttery bakery note.
Churro-Funnel Cake
Sweet butterscotch, caramel and vanilla. It's a nice scent, but doesn't smell like funnel cake (no bready notes) or churros (no cinnamon).
Life Balance
Renew Restore
Earthy, herbal lavender with maybe a smidgen of lemon verbena (although it's not really lemony). I thought I detected garden mint on cold sniff, but not when melted. And although it's a bit sweet on cold sniff, when melted it barely has any sweetness. I like it!
Herbal Medley
I really like this fresh, dewy grass scent! I'm getting other herbs as well, but nothing savory, and maybe a tiny bit of wildflowers. It's a bit sweet, but not overly so, and actually kind of bitter. It's very green, aqueous, and kind of thirst-quenching, like you're sitting next to a lake on the bank of a grassy field.
Wild Fern & Lemongrass
Lemongrass with a grassy, slightly citrusy, slightly savory herbal note. It's soapy (as lemongrass scents are) and only a tiny bit sweet. There might also be a smidgen of salty lime in the background. I like it!
Natural Wonders
Countryside Wildflowers
On cold sniff this is a rich, super sweet floral scent of lilac, honeysuckle, and cherry blossom. When melted, I smell mostly the lilac. Very nice!
Crystal Waters
Salty, slightly sweet, slightly herbal lemon with a hint of bergamot (which gives scents a bit of a citrusy cologne note, although this is not a cologne type scent at all), and a smidgen of bitterness (not enough to ruin the scent). On cold sniff I also get a floral like lily, a very slight fresh water note, and maybe a smidgen of vanilla, but I don't detect any of these notes when melting. Fantastic scent!
Mediterranean Sea
A fresh scent with a hint of bergamot that gives it a bit of a men's cologne or body wash note, as well as hints of lemon and pine, and possibly a smidgen of floral. It's only a little bit sweet, so not truly a cologne or body wash scent. It's also kind of salty, but not an oceany, briny saltiness, more of a salty lemon note. It's quite nice.
